2020 Essay contest

Overview of Contest:
The purpose of this Essay Contest is to allow creative minds the opportunity to capture the theme of our 41st MN Hmong New Year:

EMBRACING the present, INSPIRING future generations.

Thus, each writer is tasked with laying out what the present looks like today--by examining how far we have come as a community and expounding on some of the challenges still facing the Hmong community and the works that still lie ahead. The writer should briefly touch upon those who represent future generations as well as explain how today’s progress can serve as launchpads for them to reach higher and go farther. The essay should conclude by positing how EMBRACING combined with INSPIRING can serve to unify and empower the Hmong community.
